Getting Started

Get your GuidMe widget live in minutes.

1. Create an account

Sign up at GuidMe, create an app in the dashboard, then open Connection to copy the app ID and generate a publishable widget key (starts with gm_live_).

2. Add the widget script

Add a single script tag to your site:

Replace the placeholders with the widget key and app ID from Connection. The widget appears as a floating button.

3. Optional: configure with data attributes

You can customize behavior with data attributes on the script tag:

  • data-api-url — Environment-bound backend API URL (production uses https://api.guidme.ai; staging and approved previews use the staging API)
  • data-position — bottom-right, bottom-left, top-right, top-left
  • data-theme — light, dark, or auto
  • data-accent-color — Hex color (e.g. #537FE7)
